Knuckles is a super strong Echidna, and the guardian of the Master Emerald. He is the last of his tribe, and was left with the task of keeping the Master Emerald and its powers safe from harm. This job often leads to encounters with Dr. Eggman, and helping Sonic and the others defeating him.

Knuckles is smart, but is slightly cold and occasionally easily distracted or persuaded.
